Hannah & DanielPosted 4 years ago
The beautiful historical homestead at Billilla Gardens, Brighton was the perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony of Hannah and Daniel!
A whimsical birch pole arch created by floral stylist Fiona from Flowersmith was decorated with vine, herbs, foliage and seasonal flowers set the scene for the relaxed ceremony.
The ceremony reflected the couple’s style – simple, casual, relaxed, intimate and timeless. The location was perfect for a relaxed wedding ceremony in the gardens.
The couple wanted to get away from the traditional sit down feeling of a formal wedding and asked us to choose and source a beautiful and suitable setting for their wedding day theme.
Hannah and Daniel share a passion for fresh and seasonal produce, food and wine. The atmosphere on the wedding day was extremely important and the wedding styling was themed around these important elements.
Lunch was served in the open gardens surrounded by historical trees and a rose garden.
Upon entering the garden dining area, guests were greeted with a potted herb which was designed to match the table decoration where guests were to be seated. These herb pots were also a unique and memorable wedding gift for the guests.
Beautiful outdoor provincial wooden tables were decorated with tiered vintage plates used as centrepieces, crisp linens, potted herbs, green foliage, mini citrus and seasonal blooms.
The first course was served on the beautiful vintage tiered plates. Finger food delights included:
- feta and leek tarts
- black olive and goats cheese tarts
- smoked salmon and dill tarts
Plus an array of finger sandwiches filled with gourmet delights served ‘high tea’ style.
Mains were served a la carte and guests were invited to place their order. The gorgeous menu, which was cooked and prepared in front of them by Chef Ben Higgs of Wild Oak Catering.
Shared bowls on tables featured roasted heirloom vegetables…so delicious!
The guests were then invited to gather around the specially designed cheese tower for the cutting of the cake, introduction of the cheese layers and some fine champagne…naturally!
Cheeses from the delectable cheese tower were expertly hand selected by cheese connoisseur Laura from “Milk The Cow”. When asked how the cheese tower was personalized for the couple Laura replied:
“Hannah & Daniel came to me and suggested they wanted their cheese tower to be a reflection of their heritage, to reflect a part of them, therefore the cheeses that I selected were chosen specifically to suit each nationality within their family. We had Dutch, American, Italian, British, French and of course Australian to tie them all in. When creating wedding towers here at Milk the Cow, I find it more personable to create a tower, which has relevance to the bride and groom on the day. The fantastic thing about these towers is that no one tower is ever going to be the same, it’s an art form designed to represent the happy couple on the big day!”
Following this delicious lunch menu and cutting of the cheese tower came the high tea dessert station, as well as English tea served just as it should be, in vintage silver tea pots! The sumptuous dessert bar once again provided by Ben included:
- freshly baked scones with house made raspberry jam and double thick cream
- lemon square
- mini lemon cupcakes with lemon cream cheese frosting
- salted caramel and dark chocolate square
Now it was time for a few games on the beautifully manicured lawns. Croquet and badminton were included amongst the fun.
Two bars were situated within the dining and high tea areas. The first bar featured hand chosen wines by the couple and the second bar featured designer Martini cocktails. Every thought and detail was matched to Hannah and Daniel’s love of food, wine…and the occasional Martini!
The bride and groom had their hearts set on a beautifully relaxed, casually elegant, white, green and natural setting with the freshest food and premium beverages they could offer to their family and friends.
The wedding day was a huge success and the happy couple and their guests enjoyed a wonderful wedding day celebration.
The guests loved not having to leave the venue for photographs and it made for a very relaxing day!
We were thrilled to be involved from the very beginning of planning this amazing wedding day for Hannah and Daniel.
It was so exciting to see everything come together on the day…just as we planned!
